Alpinia Milky way is a new kind of ornamental ginger. The ornamental gingers are well known in the garden. The Zerumbet variegata is a product that we've been selling for many years and we're very happy to show a new kind of Alpinia. 

This ginger is fairly hardy and can be planted in the ground. In winter, apply a layer of peat to protect the ginger root from freezing.
Then the leaf will freeze and is not evergreen.


The leaf of the Alpinia Milky way is white / green striped. It is a beautiful appearance in the garden.
Cover the ginger in the winter with a ground cover such as peat or tree bark. The leaves can be cut off during the winter. Make sure it is in a not too wet place because of the rotting of the ginger tubers.

In the spring when the soil starts to get warmer, the ginger tubers shoot out again.
May get manure regularly from April to September and likes to get water regularly.
Can also be kept in a tub on the terrace or even in a conservatory. This ginger may stand in the half shade on the terrace and in a bright place in the conservatory.
