Originally this exotic cocktail plant is found in the tropics of Brazil, Suriname and the Caribbean.
The Calliandra Dixi Pink is a beautiful evergreen cultivation plant. In cloudy weather or in the evening the leaves are folding.
The bloom is amazing, the deep pink fluffy flowers appear in April / May and the bloom continues until the end of October.
In addition, the flowers really taste delicious and are a real reminder for the enthusiast of fragrant plants.
The Calliandra can grow in free nature to a tree of over 5 meters. As a cultivar, the Calliandra Dixi Pink is up to 150 cm high and is very easy to take care of.
By pruning, you can even keep the Calliandra easy for less than 1 meter.
You can fertilize this cultivated plant from May to September every two weeks with, for example, dried cowshed grain or 1x a month with a little Fertilizzante Mediterraneo.
During the winter, the Calliandra does not need any fertilizer anymore.
Regularly water and winter at a temperature of + 5ºC. In spring from May, the Calliandra can weather out in a warm place, preferably from the wind.
Furthermore, the plant may be sprayed with water every week. Pruning if the plant becomes too big will do best after flowering.
