Citrus x grandis also known as Citrus Pomelo is a citrus fruit that can be placed on the patio from beginning of may untill the end of october.
The leaves of the plant smell delicious and also the flowers and fruit have a pleasant smell. The plant itself is very easy in it's maintenance and looks like the care of other Citrus plants. The leaves are somewhat bigger which make it easier to see if the plant lacks fertilizer or water. The Citrus winters best above freezing temperatures, water the plant very little during this period. Don't let it dry out but mostly not too wet. In the growing period the plant may have more water, also fertilizer is recommended in this period. The plant can be placed outside when there is no more frost.
The Pomelo is not to be mistaken for the Pompelmo or a grapefruit. In fact the Pomelo is a mix of these two fruits. The Pomelo originates in Thailand and Malaysia and was taken to the Caribs by captain Shaddock. It is there that it gets the name: Shaddock fruit. The taste of the fruit is quite bitter but a bit sweeter than that of the grapefruit.
Winter hardiness zone 11 (+ 2ºC).
