Globba winitii Mauve is a beautiful little ornamental ginger. Originally from Thailand, this Globba develops dense clusters of green leaf shoots.
From this grow hanging inflorescences which are colored pink / yellow. These breathtaking flowers bear some resemblance to orchid-like plants.
The purple / pink and the deep yellow contrast beautifully with each other.

The plant can reach a height of 50/70 cm and has elongated green leaves.
The Globba winitii likes to be in full sun to partial shade and the well-drained soil can be slightly moist.

The plant spreads through root rhizomes.
We prefer to keep the plants in a pot, overwintering in a cool place is sufficient so that the ginger hibernates. If you plant the plant in the open ground, mulch it well so that the rhizome can get through the winter undamaged.
The foliage disappears from October / November and only the tuber remains, which sprouts again in the spring around the end of May when the weather starts to warm.
We supply this plant in a pot but does not have any foliage from the end of October to the end of May.
