This Cyperus plant is a perennial marsh plant that originally hails from the swamps and wetlands of Africa, particularly along the Nile. It has long, triangular stems that can grow up to 5 meters high. The stems are thick and hollow, with a distinctive triangular cross-section. At the top of the stems, plumes with thread-like inflorescences grow.

This plant thrives in humid conditions and can even be kept in shallow water. Ensure that the soil or water remains consistently moist but not waterlogged. Maintain a stable soil or water level and prevent the plant from drying out. Papyrus plants love plenty of sunlight. Place them in a sunny location where they can receive at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. They thrive best in warm temperatures between 20-30°C (68-86°F). If you live in a colder climate, consider bringing the plants indoors during the colder months. Papyrus plants generally don't require a lot of nutrients. If you're growing them in a pot, you can occasionally use a diluted liquid fertilizer during the growing season, typically in the spring and summer.
