Morus rubra is a small to medium-sized deciduous tree that typically reaches a height of 6 to 15 meters. The leaves are alternately arranged, lobed, and green in color. In the fall, the leaves can turn yellow to red before they drop. The red mulberry tree is known for its edible fruits called red mulberries. These fruits are small, round, and can vary in color from red to deep red or nearly black when ripe. They have a sweet, juicy taste and are often eaten fresh, processed into jam, jelly, wine, or dried to make raisins.

Morus rubra is native to eastern and central parts of North America, ranging from the southeastern Canada to the eastern United States. It thrives in mixed forests and open areas.

The plant prefers a location with plenty of sunlight, preferably at least 6 to 8 hours per day. Ensure that the soil drains well and is well-draining. It's best to prune the tree in late winter or early spring to remove dead branches and maintain its shape, promoting healthy growth.
