Agave marmorata has it's origin in the Oaxaca region in Mexico. The plant is also known as marbled agave because of it's green/grey colour that looks like marble.
The agave can reach a height of 120 cm and a diameter of 2 meters. The flower of the plant can reach up to a height of 6 meters. The large leaves of the agave are very firm with thorns on the side and the end.
This agave is not winter hardy. In Oaxaca the temperature stays above freezing all year round and even up to the heights of 1800 meter where this plant grows the temperature stays high. A "cold" dry winter is good for the plant though. If this happens it will store a lot of energy and saves this for the growing season.
This agave will have to stay in a pot. Make sure the soil lets trough the water easily and provide good drainage.
