Woestijn-desert Agave ovata - Whale tongue

Agave ovatifolia/ovata is a very nice agave. This species is quite large and after 20 years a diameter of 90/120 cm will be feasible.
Is very drought tolerant and has beautiful shaped and colored leaves.
Agaves like to be in full sun and something poor soil. This agave occurs in Mexico, Texas and Arizona to a great extent.

This agave has blue / gray powdered leaves. The leaves are quite wide and the rosette is compact.
The plant height is between 60/90 cm and 90/120 cm wide and is therefore a large agave species.
Furthermore, this agave is hardy. Planted in the ground, the agave requires a well-drained soil.

If the agave overwintering in the ground then it is hardy when it is dry, a roof is sufficient.
Prevent at all times that snow or water can enter the heart during the winter.
Winter hardiness zone 7b (-15ºC).
