Punica granatum Nana is a small permanent pomegranate bush and is found in the Mediterranean.
There the bush grows to a maximum of 100/150 cm height.
Nana means small and this species is also not very big and is good as a container to keep.
The leaf is considerably finer than the ordinary pomegranate, also the flowers are smaller, but have the same color, bright orange / red and bloom equally exuberant.
If you give the plant some food every 4 to 6 weeks, it is sufficient.
After flowering, small pomegranates appear on the pomegranate bush.
In winter when in a tub, do not give too much water (once a month) and do not use manure. Furthermore, if the plant hibernates in a cool winter, it loses its leaves, which will reappear in April.
In the open ground is not preferable, or in a sheltered spot on the south and with the necessary winter protection if more than light frost.
Winter hardiness zone 9b (-3ºC).
