Polygala myrtifolia originating in South Africa. This evergreen exotic shrub has round to slightly oval leaves that are dull green in color.
The wing flower flowers throughout the summer very exuberant from the beginning of May to the first frost. The color of the flowers with purple as main color and mint green spots
The flowers close at night and in the morning they open again.

This is a very grateful bloomer and easy plant.
During flowering the plant may receive extra water and every 2 to 3 weeks a donation of fertilizer.
Pruning the plant in the spring (March), this way you keep the plant compact if desired.
The winter hardiness of the Polygala myrtifolia is moderate in a sheltered place. Can be planted in the garden if it is covered in moderate frost. Our preference is to keep this plant as a container plant.
If the tub plant is also reticent in the winter with water and do not fertilize, keep the pot free of frost.
