Canna musafolia Rubrum is the same as the Canna musafolia, however, the Rubrum gets deep red leaf instead of green leaf.
This beautiful leaf plant (may also bloom) is also called "Banana Canna".
The Canna musafolia Rubrum has a very high "Tropical Look" and may not be lacking in an exotic garden.
Bananas grow fast, but the Canna musafolia Rubrum is able to grow up to 3 meters in one season. The stem has an oval shape and is red in color. The leaf is deep red.

The Canna musafolia Rubrum can grow in bloom from mid July and then bloom until the first frost. It should be noted that the plant is not easy to bloom and summer must be good enough, but it is possible.
If the canna is not flourished, you have a beautiful leaf plant in your garden.
The leaf dies completely after a few nights frost. Now it's time to protect the roots against the frost. Leave them in the ground then cover with a layer of 20 cm leaf or bark. In spring, the Canna will grow again from the beginning of May.
