Prunus persica "Venus" is a nectarine producing tree. This species thrives in the northern European climate and will produce edible fruit. In early spring this tree flowers beautifully. The fruits are hard when picked and will ripen after. Easily eaten as handfruit or to process in cake or as a jam.

The leaves of the tree are elongated and bright green, in winter the tree drops these leaves. The pulp of the fruit is bright orange and they ripen in augustus/september. The peel of the fruit is dark red.

The tree itself has low demands on it's soil. It does however prefer to not be too wet. The plant can be pruned, it is best to do this after plucking the fruit. This can best be done on warmer days since the wound heals better. Pruning is mostly done to keep the shape of the plant intact.
