Quisqualis indica also called Rangoon creeper is a climbing vine and grows in the tropical forests like vines through the foliage of the trees. The plant can grow up to 8 meters in length without pruning.
The name Quisqualis means "What is this" and this is easily explained. In the beginning, the plant grows bush-shaped and gradually grows like a vine or vine.
As said, it is a climbing plant with a woody climbing vine. The leaf is yellow / green and long.
Stems have fine yellow hairs.
The bloom is first white and then the 10 cm large star-shaped auromatic flower clusters turn to pink and later to red.
The flower clusters have a very aromatic scent, especially in the evening and at night.
The Quisqualis indica is evergreen at a temperature above 5 degrees. Although it is a tropical plant, the plant will not die immediately in light frost. It dies completely in moderate frost, but then reappears in the spring from the roots if they receive sufficient protection in winter.
Fertilize the plant very cautiously, too much nitrogen only makes the plant grow and not bloom. A little dried cow manure grain in early spring and later in the summer is sufficient.
Winter hardiness zone 10b (+ 1ºC).
