The Trithrinax campestris is the most hardy trithrinax species available. This Trithrinax campestris comes from northern Argentina and central Uruguay.
There, this palm tree grows in dry river beds, along ravines and canyons. The name "campestris" means "of the fields" and typifies its natural habitat.
It still occurs in the wild, but further advancing agriculture in Argentina endangers life.

This fan palm also has very hard leaves that can withstand strong winds without damaging them. The leaf color is gray / green to blue / gray with a stem below which is completely covered with the dead leaves in a shape of a skirt.
It is a very special and attractive palm that thrives well in our climate.
The Trithrinax campestris can also withstand drought very well.

If you are considering placing this palm in the ground, you should take into account that it should not be too wet. Our advice is to make a well-drained soil.
Make sure you make a hill that is 10 to 20 cm higher than the rest of the garden. This way no excess water can flow to the palm.
You will not have any problems with winter this way. The frost tolerance is high, dry winter without problems zone 7a to -15ºC.
In the winter, perhaps pack with climate cloth to prevent spear rot. In this way the core of the palm remains dry.
